Finishing up..

Thank you so very much for your sweet comments on the last post. I appreciate every one.

I have actually been getting some evening stitching time in this past week and would like to share just a couple with you. I wish I was faster, but that's just not happening.

This is my first Word Play, and I really enjoyed it. "December Word Play" I honestly don't think I had any of the colors called for..so I just looked at the photo and guessed.

Just did the finishing on this stocking last night. Surprisingly, this particular photo shows the true colors. This is Hands To Work.

Also Primitive Merry Christmas

I have stitched two more of the little stocking ornaments but have not put them together yet..

On a personal note:
Thank you to those who mentioned my job. I actually work for the same company, which I love, but am now officially an editor, though I am still having to do a lot of transcription because voice recognition is not what it is cracked up to be. Nuff said, lest you see my grumbly side.

Jackie, I believe it is definitely the pattern on the scarf, but I haven't tried blocking it yet.

Berit, you are right, but I think Paulette would have to come up missing extremities to give up her stitching or our tradition. lol. Right now, we are just waiting for what she stitched for me to arrive from Jill. I can hardly wait!

As always, you are so sweet to drop in.

Tis Fall!

Oh my..where did the summer go? Many apologies for being so long between posts, for those who visit regularly.  Gosh..I wish I could say that I have been stitching up a storm, but that is just not the case, not since finishing Paulette's sampler for our upcoming Winter Sampler Exchange (we have yet to set a date). I have sent that and another smaller design off to Jill and can hardly wait to get them back.

My husband asked me recently when I was going to update my blog..I wondered what on earth I could share, when what did arrive? Kelmscott goodies. :) Oh my..if you love buttons, these are for you. They are the most beautiful colors and shapes and ever so delicate. And just in time to finish off a couple of "smalls" I worked up earlier in the fall..or was it late summer..whatever, they will be perfect.

And you know if I am even mentioning the name of Kelmscott there will be scissors, needle minders, and thread keeps.

Suffice it to say, I am never, ever without a pair of scissors to snip threads..and I do change them out, since so many of them are seasonal.

On to some hand-made things, I have been doing a bit of knitting..and you know how I love R...E...D. I have done 3 pairs of wrist warmers, but I don't have any pictures. I did another red scarf with a beautiful pattern, but since I am self-taught, I didn't know to run from certain patterns like the plague, and the entire thing was horribly curled, so on to the next.

As for stitching, I am currently working on December Word Play and should be finishing it up by the weekend, so hopefully I will not wait for months to blog again. I have recently had a job change so have not really felt like being on the computer for fun, but now that things are settling down to a quiet roar, I hope to visit my favs, some of which are on InstaGram. As always, thank you so very much for stopping by and sharing your time with me. I hope if you were affected by the recent storms that you are well and safe..and warm! God Bless.

FINISHED!

Finally a finish! Oh, please forgive me that I cannot show it until December! If you are new, my daughter and I have been exchanging samplers each Christmas for many years, so that is what I just finished. Last year I made the mistake of showing just a letter, and she figured it out! So no sneaks this year. I hope you will visit again in the winter for the exchange.

I'm not sure if I shared this on a previous post, but I loved making these dish cloths!

I would like to thank everyone who commented on my most recent pieces I received back from Jill Rensel.
On a personal note: Jackie, you asked how I decide to go with glass or not..I have very few pieces that do not have glass on them, actually..just something I preferred in the past.  Now I only use glass on pieces with matts. I just think it looks better.
Linda: are you finished with Birds & Bees? :)
Annette: I am so embarrassed that I have just seen your comment! I guess I did not expect to see any more comments on that post..so please, please forgive me, and I ask that you would have the chart sent to someone else, since I did not do this in a timely manner, and I thank you so much for your generosity.

My husband and I recently took a trip to South Dakota, so I will leave you with some pics I took..these are all contained in an old school..I am sure I took hundreds of pictures..here are just a few.

Here is the school; of course, the outside is newer, but everything is original on the inside, and it was more amazing visiting..the big black thing you see on the left is the original fire escape..

As always, thank you for taking the time to stop by!

It's a Plum Street Samplers Day!

It's like Christmas when one of Jill's boxes arrives! I have never seen such wrapping..there is not a chance anything could penetrate one of these boxes, not even UPS!

I am so happy to be able to show--after several years--Garden of Eerie by Plum Street Samplers. What a fun stitch this was.

Here is a closeup of the molding:

And here is Gobble, also Plum Street Samplers. It is the first of 4 in the series. Every nook and cranny in my house screams REFLECTION! I had to take it outside to get a decent shot..it is so much prettier than my photography, the colors much more rich than you see here.

And the molding:

Jill knows how to do it up right..I have some lovely pieces between two great creative ladies. Thanks to everyone who stops by and shares a part of your day with me. Now, how will I put them away until fall..

Wee finishes

Just a couple of small items, ready to be finished; the first one is by The Primitive Hare, stitched on Relic using NPI and Belle Soie..the spool in the top? I have a lot of vintage wooden spools, and they are perfect for wrapping a skein of NPI--or anything else--and tossing it in your travel bag.

I have had this little Kelmscott mini for some time..when I saw Jackie's finished, I decided it was the perfect little weekend project. This little piece is about 2 inches by 1.5.

I hope everyone is staying cool! Thank you so much for stopping by, in spite of the heat in the Heartland...

Smalls...

Just a couple of smalls I worked up. I actually finished the Blackbird Designs one a couple of months ago. The "Crow" is by Primitive Betty, stitched on Buttercream with Black Crow and grunged up a bit..wow..the fabrics look way too light here, but once they are "finished," hopefully I can photograph them outside and get a more true picture. This is my first Primitive Betty to stitch, and I can hardly wait to do another..

As always, thank you ever so much for stopping by.

Kelmscott goodies..

I had to snicker at all of my black scissors..I get a kick out of seeing each new pair that Kelmscott Designs comes out with. I have quite a few pairs of K scissors, but these are my black ones, and I just love them..the stars and the square/round are the latest addition.

And speaking of Kelmscott..I had a time trying to get my needle minders close enough to snap one picture..they have a mind of their own..I went to snap the picture, and somehow one of them moved and they all wound up in a big pile, being magnetic..I'm sure I had the silliest look on my face but finally stopped laughing, rearranged them again, and got the shot. I am missing more than a few of these little beauties, but these are the ones I currently have and just love them..there really is one for nearly every project.

And this is what I was doing on my work break...just playing around with pretty little things..thank you so very much for sharing part of your day with me.
